There seems to be one undelying theme in Brisbane (Possibly Australia in general), and thats the overwhelming amount of 80's music that gets played everywhere. Shops, bars, radio stations..........you name it, 4 out of 5 songs are 80's. And the radio presenters seem to be caught up in the 80's time warp as well, in the 'Smashy and Nicey' kind of way -
"Doin' that for charidy?"
"Certainly am, great mate"
The links between songs are just as fantastically cheesy. Two examples:
"We may be on level 5 water restrictions, our grass may be fading and our plants maybe dying..............but at least we can recycle great hits like this - Here's Cyndi Lauper and Time after Time"
"Her new album maybe called loose, but she's turned down $500k to pose for playboy - Here's Nelly Furtado and Maneater".

Well - I thought it was time to finally post a comment. So here it is....
Jammy B#stards!!
Its not that I am at all jealous of your exploits, or that you no longer have the delights of waking up knowing you have to go to work the next day. I'll be honest, i would swap 80's hits for a day away from work.... then again...
It’s nice to hear what you are both up to, the beach sounds great. I trust you were both well behaved and didn’t take advantage of having the beach to yourselves (other than the voyeuristic lifeguard that is!!) :)
How’s the beard coming along? Not heard much about its progress recently. I was rather hoping that it would be a main feature of your travels. I appreciate that you are seeing some wonderous sights etc etc but for me it’s all about the beard...
Look forward to your next post...
Matt
